The Organization

Plan International is an independent non-profit development and humanitarian organization that promotes children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child, but we know that they are often limited by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. And girls are the most affected.

In collaboration with children, young people, supporters, and partners, we strive for a just world by addressing the root causes of the problems faced by the most vulnerable children. We support children from birth to adulthood and empower them to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive change in practices and policies at the local, national, and global levels thanks to our reach, experience, and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have brought together other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries. We will not stop until equality is achieved.

Purpose: Plan International is an independent humanitarian and children’s rights organization committed to ensuring that children and young people live free from poverty, violence, and injustice.

We actively unite children, young people, communities, and others who share our mission to achieve positive and lasting change in the lives of children and young people. We support children, adolescents, and young people to acquire the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to demand their rights to a full life, today and in the future. We focus on girls and women, who are most often left behind. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and now Plan International is seeking a Technical Resource focused on providing training, planning, and advocacy services in child protection and education in emergencies for people on the move. These roles are crucial to responding to the protection, human mobility, and return crisis in Honduras. The goal is to offer support in line with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action and other relevant guidelines.

Through the Safe Steps project, the goal is to strengthen the capacities of service providers focused on child protection, gender, and education in emergencies.
